Screwfix still can't manage next day collections.
Still lots of random things that seem unobtainable.
Couple of months ago I couldn't find a hose pipe nozzle for love nor money.
Eurocell were out of downpipe.

Not in the electronics world. If parts are available then fast delivery is available but a lot of stuff is on back order in 2025 or further.
Just lucky a lot of the stuff I do is custom one offs so can always design it around new components.

Ha, was told on Friday, 40 week delay for boat fenders.

I need to build a new batch of Ibus control modules as I am down to 6. Nobody had the LINBus transceiver ICs, nor a standard quad buffer. The digipot is also not available and estimates are 12 months for the next batches. Eventually I found 31 transceivers at Digikey, their total stock together with an alternative buffer part. The digi pot I researched a number of alternatives and none are available. These are not exotic, specialist parts but bog standard, everyday components.

It's like that for a lot of electronic stuff.
Trinamics boards, Siemens servo motors, Bosch Rexroth servo motors to name a few that have minimum 12 month lead time at the moment.

However it looks like it might have been a special one off or a sunday thing, I couldnt see the before 1pm delivery on any searches today.
They'll shut at 1am for the queen's jubilee thing weekend so enjoy that!I'm just glad pubs don't shut at 10 and we don't have to mess about with table service/booking a table

It seems that things are getting a little worse at the moment. Direct supply may have eased a little, but that's only for 'stock held'. There are shortages as stocks run low, but the big issue seems to be for components/ingredients and also the knock on from things like electronic components needed to make or repair tools and manufacturing equipment.
Stuff like the little transformer board to drop the voltage for the laser on my Bosch saw. The suppliers are being told by Bosch that they're using up (then hopefully replacing!) stock for manufacture. Spares like that for repairs they're advising suppliers that they're unlikely to see availability until 2024/25.
Another one to use a very different example is rock and walling stone. Tonnes used to come in on bulk carriers, but they're now being used for more important cargo to try and catch up. Consequently domestic supply is very sketchy, and very very expensive.
