Are these reg connections compatible? different profile to shoulder of bullnose

Hi

(firstly apologies for naff phone pics!)
Does anyone know if the bull nose fittings on the outlet side of a reg are interchangable? Or does the seat in the reg tend to wear to only fit a certain profile of connection?

Have a second hand reg attached to my current bottle, its main bullnose is dented (it does seal with a twist) but want to use my decent reg on the next refill.

The decent reg currently has the below outlet fitted (goes to a hobby welder adaptor)



But the welder has a slightly different profiled shoulder to the bullnose as below. Is the below a type of connection that forms to the sealing surface?
Is it advisable to try and connect it to my decent reg or am I likely to mark the decent reg sealing surface and then find neither will seal?

The male thread looks like BSPP the bull nose and parallel fittings are not compatable, you can buy replacement bull nose fittings. Check the pressure ratings of your regulators before fitting them onto different bottles.

Cheers the female connector on both look similar but perhaps a different angle on the seats. Have portamig supplied the parallel fitting that I presume you refer to with intention of it being fitted to a different sort of regulator ?

The parallel fitting is for CO2 cylinder, it seals on the flat face.

The parallel fitting pictured is on the hose to the welder and connects to the regulator low pressure outlet? It is not the larger fitting to the bottle itself pictured.
Does this mean you have to change the adaptor on the hose to the welder when you switch between co2 and argon mix ? Bit lost because it seals on the regulator supplied which is an argon one, the welder has never been connected to co2

No the BSPP outlet from the reg goes to the mig, I think I misunderstood you a bull nose fitting is the standard coupling from the bottle to the regulator. The outlet from most regulators is British standard parallel pipe which in this case seals on the internal taper. The female fitting that looks to have a parallel stub inside it is not what I would expect to fit into a BSPP fitting. You can buy replacement hose tail to BSPP fittings cheaply from any hydraulic supplier, I would just replace them both, get some hose clips to fit whilst your there.
