are the aldi compressors anygood?

selling my 150l compressor as its to much for what i use it for. thinking of buying one of the cheap ones aldi has on offer, dont do nothing do big, am a mechanic so do a few services and cam belts etc on my drive so after somthing on wheels thats easy to move around but hoping that they not to cheap so that they dont last

Pondy There noisy (direct drive) I shut mine in the shead and run airline across to work area (mine you the wife does complain at having the compressor shut in with her : ).

Had mine for 18 months, yes they are noisy as most direct drive models are but it's served me well, I use a gravity feed gun and have sprayed bike tanks and a couple of car panels with good results, also use an air drill, cut off tool and impact driver occasionaly.

I am however going to get a slightly bigger belt driven quieter unit, mines where I work and the noise irritates me too much.

its a cheapo compressor though , get what you pay for , dont expect too much

Stay within the duty cycle, change the oil every year and don't store it in damp conditions and it will be fine for years. My very first compressor was a little generic Italian made unit badged ERP, very similar type of thing to the Aldi, I still have it, still going strong 15 years later !

theyre very good on returns there , buy one and run it up , if you hate it take it back for a full refund

Overall it's acceptable quality, I've seen worse. Lets face it, you're not going to get a premium quality compressor at this price. As long as it's not put to continuous use day in, day out I reckon it will provide a good few years service and it does have a 3 year warranty anyway.
