Mine has 2 sets of collets to convert between metric and imperial, burrs and flapwheels with shafts 1/4" (6.35) tend to be far more common than the metric ones but I notice there are more 6mm ones around nowadays, you'll just have to be careful what you buy if you only have a 6mm collet, or buy another die grinder...
I bought a spare one and the outer diameter didn't match. Most collets on ebay just list the die grinder that they fit, and not the full dimensions. I will have to message the sellers to find out.I 've ended up with loads of different collets over the years, most are universal you can buy the various collets from likes of snap-on etc
that is how I have ended up with so many I wanted a few options and it was as cheap to buy a cheap grinder to get the various collets as buy them separately I used the cheap grinder with a flat wheel or flap sanding wheels therefore the bearing dont need to be as good as using the tungsten cutters the cheapo came with at least 4 collets so made it cheaper than buying snap-on collets .The die grinder i bought came with two collets, 1/4" and a 6mm. Very handy.

I have had this problem many on line sellers list as 6mm / 1/4" on the same item.![]()
I don't measure in thous but I know that the 1/4" bits absolutely won't fit into my die grinder! The actual difference in diameter is just over 0.013" , At 73 thou it wouldn't even be a rattling good fit,
