Plan is get it clean, get it oiled, then it can make parts till the Elliott is working.

Very nice, sturdy... Once you['re used to power feeds on *anything* you'll not want to go back! Got X Y and Z on my mill with a big red Rapid lever, and both ways on the lathe (with micrometer stops...) - flash or what

Managed to get a few more hours on it today during the non-stop downpour.

I’ve had the pair of gibs out of the x axis, the gib out of y-axis. They were filthy.

Took the leadscrew out of the y-axis, cleaned all under there, got to strip the metric/imperial dials tomorrow, clean, lubricate and put it all back together.

That will need to be done on all axis because there is some right black crap still sleeping out from between the two rings of the dial.

Z axis still stiff to lift the knee up. I’ll have to look at this.

I’ll take the handle and box off that engages the power cross feed next. That is all working it’s just not as positive an engagement as it should be.

That’s great if you buy a maintained, clean machine or a dirty machine you want to scrap in a years time.

Its not had any oil in the ways for quite some time. It’s already got some galling and subsequent gouging in the y-axis. Nothin that a light deburr can’t fix but still.

They're like grease nipples that you’d find on tractors/excavators.
