Hi tried out two different rods ,weld right 2.0mm of eBay,and Screwfix impax 2.0mm rods .weld right rods struck up better than impact rods,out the two weld right were the better rod,I found the weld layed better ,and easy to use for a DIY welder.just my input

don't know if ur recomending them but I only use Oerlikon welding rods or better..........

I made the mistake of buying rods from Halfords years back. They were garbage. You're better off paying for a well-known brand like Oerlikon or similar.

I bought some 6013 SelectArc the other day, I wasn't impressed.

Cheap rods can result in a whole world of frustration, years ago I foolishly bought several packs of 'own brand' 6013's from a local independent.
I'd have had more success welding with galvanised barbed wire.
Lesson learned; I've still got the rods, I literally wouldn't gift them to someone.

Try some bohler ohv, they'll blow your mind

It's funny coz I always buy the cheapest 6013's from evilbay or wherever, of various non brands, and I've never had a problem.
I'm no genius by any means, but for general repair and fabrication etc etc I've always managed perfectly good and fit for purpose welds with cheap rods.
If it was pipe or something to a spec, that needed to be tested or whatever then expensive brand stuff may be best, but?
