Is this a sign of to much arc force,or something else,2.5 rod, it seems to split open the weld

looks like two welds to me , the freeze ripples dont match at all

could do with a bit more info really. what rod was it, what size, what amps etc and thickness of steel

I suspect you've weaved the rod too much with too low amperage.
