anyone used a jeferson 430s?

Hi there. Im welding 10 years now and have recently been supplied with a jefferson jefmig 430s.

I weld a wide range of things from 2mm steel upto 40mm steel. Ive never had problems setting my welder before but then again i never welded very heavy gauge steel (20mm and up) before.

Anyways, question being, what are all the knobs on the front of the rolling part of the welder??? There are about 6 of them, i know the obvious one, burnback and wire speed but the others are baffling me. Im having alot of bother getting welder set up right for very heavy gauge welding.

PS there is no chart on welder for settings nor is there an opperation / instruction manual.

Any help much appriciated. Thanks in advance.

This is the closest I could find. Hold curser over plant and zoom in. Still not close enough for me though. Timers maybe ?

hi there. Yes i checked out that link. The big part of the welder is a 430s but the top part (the bit you wheel about) is the same a 390.

1-the top dial is wire speed
2-one to the right of it is to change between auto/manual/ spot etc
3-next one down is to do with wire speed but it drastically changes the way the welder welds even after ******ing about with the main wire speed knob.
4-the next one down i dont have a clue what it changes but it seems to alter the way the welder burns in.
5-second from the bottom i think is for the spot weld timing but doesnt affect welding with normal weld settings.
6-the bottom one i'll assume is burn back.

At the minute im welding at C5 power and knobs at (numbers are for above knobs)

1- 6.7
2- n/a
3- 6
4- 4
5- 2
6- 2

this is for welding 15mm up to 30mm steel and is a pretty high setting. Ive now perfected welding at this power but can someone post a link or explain how to set burnback and weld burn (knob 5) as stated in first post im a seasoned welder but had never used a welder that has so many setting.

Must get up a few snaps of my welding in the next few days for you guys to check out.
