Anyone use mailtraq as a mail server

I am just trying to tie up loose ends I have been unable to concentrate on recently.

Sadly the mail server I use to control my mail is old and the forum has not been visited by the authors for some time now.

I am having trouble stopping mail from bouncing and routing is sending my brain into a frenzy..

WHo are the mail server experts amongst us lol

All I need to do is collect mail via pop3 and direct it to Forte Agent.

This is from accounts I create on my reseller account from host gator.

It's not used to resell but a simple way to experiment and try to learn.

Mail Traq has been running for over 20 years on my machines but the last 12 months the support forums are not visited by the authors , although I do have email access I realise if the guy ever gives up entirely I struggle with exactly how it all works and currently have problems with duplicate and bounced mail.

Nope, they're *nix software.

Once you download the messages via pop3, what are you doing with them when you palm them off to that other programme?

I have messages from a number of accounts. I collect from the server using mailtraq.

I then collect from mail Traq using forte agent. Which is a mail reader.

I have been doing this for over 20 years. BUT as the programs usually just work it can be 2 or 3 years between problems.

The support forum http://mailtraq.com has always looked at my logs and told me what to tweak or I used AFX recover and all was fine for months again.

But it seems Elric@novitraq.com is not actively doing support anymore although he does reply occasionally.

My concern is the future.......lol

Not really....although I do feed all my mail through to my Gmail account.

It collects mail from my websites such as mistatees-rc.co.uk.

I was assisting to develop a website where you could design T Shirts and we used a number of different domains on test sites etc.

That software is now obsolete but another one is being developed (hopefully).

Why not just use only your e-mail client and enter all of your accounts into that, save using the two step approach you're currently doing.
