Place i worked at years ago had something similar, it worked off a 1:10 drawing and used to cut up to 40mm steel with an oxy/acet torch.

I am completely baffled by the number. Could some kind person please explain how that string of digits leads to the Kerry Forge profile cutter?

Clicking on the link in post #3 revealed the name David W Thomas, and brought to mind the turnip harvester they demonstrated in Aberdeenshire in 1977. It had hydraulic drive to the rotary share and topper, plus a cleaning wheel and a tipping bunker, and in many ways it was quite advanced, by comparison with the Boswell harvesters in common use at that time.

Yeah ,years ago when I worked at "woods of colchester "we had a profile cutter that was a bit like that.I never used it but it was installed next to the guillotine I worked on.
A lens followed a black line on a perspex plate and just like a pantograph the machine flame cut a steel component out of a sheet of steel ,you had to reposition the sheet after it had cut one .
It was a bit of a faff to get it set up and it was very sensitive to vibration ,a mate of mine also called Jeff worked on it so I would wait until he got it just right.. and I stick a bit of 3/8 through the cincinnati and make the floor jump ,the lens would lose focus and cut the component in half .... ah we were young ...and on permanent nights ....jeff...
