Anyone make small screws?

Needing a front pin / screw for a ten bore shotgun I am rebuilding

Anyone into small model making etc that might help out

It is I think 1/8 x 40 Whitworth from gauging. I just broke the one I was repairing from it!

Just threading and the basic head turning will do, the head finishing ( slotting etc I can do)

What other dimensions do you have? I have a big box of small sets and bolts in imperial sizes that were my Dads. I could look to see if there is something similar.

just had a look through my taps and dies and the smallest 40 pitch die Ive got is 5/32" diameter

It's unlikely as it has a head made to go into a very specific counternored hole and finish flush

Assuming its a quality English of some age the thread can be anything often made up as a one off hence term gunsmiths thread.
Either side of 1/8" check its not a 4 to 6 BA still currently used in a few areas.

Quite right on the counterboring head should be left tall, fill he diameter no gaps, fully tightened up then filed down and slotted so lines up.

Never heard of a 'Counternored' hole......

My Dad worked in maintenance for Marconi for 41 years, so the box of screws is not the normal 'box of screws'.

Surely it would have been easier to post dimensions then all the above, someone somewhere will have one sat around maybe not on this forum but you never know, also dimensions will be needed to make one got to be worth posting

It's a zabala Spanish 10 bore same as the greylag eight bore
One of those Spanish guess who made it sold under a load of different guises guns

I could be out with the 1/8 x 40 Whitworth seems strange it being Spanish. Of course I still have the other intact one - if I can find someone to make a new replacement
Will try the BA threads mentioned I just went through the gauges but with small screws and slowly failing eyes..

Thanks but these things are very specific and are termed pins. Many aspects need matching as a major component moves on it and as mentioned by herang it's a very specific fit. Very unlike what an engineer might have - a gunsmith yes maybe

Marconi were and are a defence supplier, they made all manner of weapons and sights etc for various militaries so possible maintenance may have acquired some spares from various boxes on site.

Thanks but honestly this is a specific part it's a make a new one or ring round the gunsmiths ( lucky we have a few in Lancashire) just thought a model maker or someone used to this with a small suitable lathe dies etc..
