Been waiting 5 weeks since paying for a 215, and found today that work hasn't even started on it yet , orders must be up. Does anyone have a digital manual so I can at least read about it?
I can save you some time (well reading this post probably takes a similar time to read the manual), do not bother. The manual is not exactly comprehensive or informative or even decent!
I think the assumption is if you are buying a machine like that then you know how to use it!
Probably the same as most welder manuals, 95% H&S and how to connect it the tutorials on here have a handy set up guide to get you going, then it gets easier with experiance, you'll soon get a "feel" for a good weld.

Vanny - Hang in their I got my Portamig 215 two weeks ago after a six week wait which is frustrating when it's suggested that 2/3 weeks is the norm. Very happy with it. As for the manual, about 5 sides of A4 and nothing special.
Cheers folks. It's not my first welder, though arguably my first decent welder.
I'm just used to machines that come with a manual in several folders and take days to read, but as pointed out, there isn't much to a mig welder, and i'm sure I can figure out how to attach a couple of wheels.
After 6 years of waiting, i might finally get the mini project under way.
However the wait for the Portamig might kill me before then!
I thought that they (welding machines) electrical equipment etc etc had to come with instructions and more importantly a Certificate of Conformity for CE purposes by law?
A digital copy of the manual magically appeared in my inbox over the weekend (Cheers Mr Weldequip!), and actually its not as bad a read as i had expected.
It's not a step by step guide, and as pointed out above, it won't win awards for journalistic content, but interesting non the less.
I get the impression the underlying reason for writing it is to stop people who have never used a welder from hurting themselves or the Portamig. As a negative, it has now made me even more excited than i already was
if thats the case mine will be the same :P as i ordered the spot weld timer, was going to get the polarity swap for gasless untill ir realised that i would never want to use gasless anyways, my friend has one and when i used it seemed like a top little welder
