Anyone know what this material is called please..

I saw this plasterers trim in B&Q trade, is supplied in long lengths..

I would really like to be able to find out what it's called and if I can purchase flat sheets of it for a fabrication job I've to do.. This trim has the gypsum stamp on it.. I tried contacting them.. No reply!

probably just going to be pressed ali. the dimples would have been put in on a press for sure, probably made form ali or thin sheet galv/stainless, doubt it would be anything fancy. it may have been made in large sheets then sheared or may have come off a roll in bands that wide, through the press/roller than onto a another shear for length

The effect is called rigidising, it comes in 2 or 3 different styles and is very common in the food industry for making chutes and transfer plates, most stainless stockholders should be able to source it.

If its gypsum then i think you'll find by the looks of it its finish end board beading

We fall over literally tonnes of the stuff on big sites. It galvanised steel, thin stuff; channel by the looks, comes in lots of different profiles - used for drylining.

I wouldn't bother wasting time persuing BG..they won't be interested.

I have used it before for chutes etc. it's quite expensive iirc.

It's used for making stud walls. It comes in a couple of sizes but not in flat.
I use loads of the stuff.
The dimples are so the screws bite better without sliding around.

standard Gyproc supplied steel, Galv embossed steel about.9mm thick, this one in the middle is about 75mm wide, we stocked 50 and 100mm, used it for various ties/crossbrace on almost anything that may need a brace, covered straight on top with plater board, or that "type" of material. any one selling plaster boards and gyproc products will keep it in stock, builders merchants, platerboard suppliers.

You`ll also see it used on say a wall that is taller than a single plaster board, so say a 3.6 M tall wall will need a full board and a cutting, two boards will be 2.4 X 1.2M and 1.2 X 1.2 M.
So along the unsupported 1.2 edge,Horixontaly a flat strap is screwed to the vertical studs, when the boards are married up this horizontal "brace" gives support to the 1.2 edges, the 3.6 edges will be joined on a stud---makes sense to me!! Pic from British Gypsum White book
