Anyone know what this is?

Okay, so obviously its some kind of earth cable, but it's really flexible (I can easily wrap it around my finger) and it's got odd connectors on each end.

I'm told it's something to do with X-ray machines but that's all I know.

I'd say an earth strap for a workdesk.

It looks like an esd strap to me, used to see loads of benches with them fitted when I ( briefly) worked the electronics manufacturing sector.

Yeah, possibly I never looked that closely. I seem to remember if they had moveable/portable benches on the production lines they used to use similar straps to attach the benches to the main bonding system though.

That's possible - the ones that go on a wrist strap are normally really quite thin.

Yeah - usually a curly cable type affair. I seem remember we got issued with ones that went on the heel of your shoe as well which we had to wear in certain sensitive places. I've probably still got one somewhere, not seen the light of day since I left!​

Is it silicone insulated wire? I remember my first multimeter, was an ancient thing I inherited, had super flexible leads. I think they were silicone.
