I just went out into the yard with a camera, but realised the seeder they had sitting out there for years has been fixed and removed. Ah well, we'll maybe never know what the beak is.

Ooo thanks Sparks..that's really good of you. Tell you what tho', I'll see if I can get one off fleabay as postage from yours could end up being more! I'm not in a tearing rush, now I know what it is and that it can be got, I could even get myself to a breakers yard and know what to ask for.

That's very kind Steve but actually I have loads of beaks, it was the body I was short of. I actually 'cheated' a bit for this piece. Because the rest of the bird is so lightweight it couldn't cope with the weight of the real cast iron part so I moulded it and cast it in a light-weight filled resin. So if I wanted I could use the same mould - although I probably won't as I don't want a mirror image of the first one, just a similar one.
