Doesn't help if you get a blow back behind the torch for any reason. They are miles better situated on the reg.Flashback arrestors afe on the torch…….![]()
Well said Bill. My thoughts exactly.I can't understand why on earth anybody would fit them at the torch rather than regulator. It's a well accepted fact that they belong at the regulator with check valves at the torch.
You can get BOC Argon with knob as I used to have that myself.BOC cylinders use a key, I have one in the shed. That could be Energas or an old Air Products cylinder.
The Mapp gas bottles don't last very long (around £12 each) so not a very cost effective way of welding / cutting. More suited to refrigeration engineers and such who just need a couple of minutes of use and lightweight more important than cost / running time.I didn't know that Mapp gas could be used like this. Where can I get reg from to try this at home?
