It came off a lightweight I have a much nicer tan one for when I don't have the bikini top on

Shox, if you get desperate (but not that desperate really), modern sailcloth is good quality, strong, fairly waterproof stuff. Plenty going for next to nothing on ebay, big enough for your purposes.

In fact if you have a sailmakers anywhere near, they will probably have a skip-full of old sails; just the job.
