I use single flute carbide mills for routing aluminium.
I have to cut a fair few LED holes, and square button holes, so my most common size is around 2mm (or the imperial equivalent)
For years now, ive been buying them from rlshmitt in america - they are good, but they are not cheap, and, what with parcelfarce clearance fees and all that, im looking for other options.
The rlshmitt ones work out, IIRC, about £25 each, maybe a bit more. Enough to make me swear when i jog the machine, and hear that little 'click' of £25 snapping in two!
Ages ago, i tried some "cheap from china" units, off ebay, but even for the pocket change that they were, they were rubbish value. I did not use a single unit for production work, as the rake angle was all wrong, and they just pushed a bur whatever i tried.
So, anyone got any suggestions / experience of other brands of small diameter, single flute carbide?
Or should i just throw my cash at a few options and hope one comes up a winner?
