Yeah I have an old one. Bought it off a guy on here a while ago.
All in all, pretty bloody good to be honest. I have used it a fair bit, and the blade could do with a sharpen up but the motor has started to sound a bit weird recently as if the armature is on its way out so I'm a little worried about it. I'll have to weigh up getting it fixed or replaced - not sure which way to go. One of my sons rewinds motors for a living, so I'll have to have a talk with him about it.
As I said mine is pretty old now, and the newer ones have a much better coolant pump system which is a good thing, as the old ones are pants. I've not tried moving it around to cut angles yet, but the right angles are accurate, and it cuts quite quickly. The blade makes a weird vibrating noise sometimes on a heavy cut, but I've heard the same sound on other cold saws, so I think it's just par for the course.
Would I buy another one? Yes I think I would. I've made a nice stand for it, and it ticks all the boxes for me. If I'm totally honest, I'm looking for an excuse to go out and get a nice shiny new one!
Thanks WM. I'm quite tempted by these. I recently sold an Axminster Bandsaw as I'm downsizing and it would take up too much room. I'm looking for a saw that cuts accurately and quietly and I don't fancy trying the miniature bandsaws that are available from Axminster as I had nightmares getting my old saw set up properly.
