Anyone got one of the milwakee 18v vacs?

Basically, thinking of getting one of the hand held ones, and have 18v batts...

But all the others i see are cyclone based, whilst this one seems to just have a filter - which does not seem so great?

Not that one in particular, but it’s big brother.

Again just a filter, but I haven’t had any problems so far. Does wet and dry, suck and blow , cars, lorry, workshop and brick dust through it so far and I haven’t blocked it.

Not any more.

Had one last year, supplied through work.

First died when the battery charger failed, replaced under warranty.

The replacement needed to be repaired when the plastic attachment holed split

It kept going until the motor seamed to loose power and it now is sat in van waiting to be returned.

One of the guys that I occasionally work with uses one, he seems to like it though it has been 'borrowed' a couple of times, fortunately he is a big bloke and got it back.
It works for him because he works out of an estate car so not much space for a proper vacuum, me I prefer my Henry.

As above, flea markets will often get you a used henry/numatic for no more than a score... Thats where my money would go!

I've got two Henry's, one for the house and one for my machines.

The reason I've been looking at these is that they're battery powered and small so you can just get them out quickly without all the messing about.

So, in that, they're not at all an alternative to a Henry, but an addition to own.

My real concern was the filter. With a Henry, the bag is the filter, and you throw it away.

With one of these the filter is £20 or somthing, and not washable. That concerns me.

Handy to chuck on my cordless tools when only have a few cuts or to carry around to clean up sawdust and chips when working my way around a house fitting ironmongery.

Mains powered too for decent clean ups.

I bought a dyson handheld - utter rubbish.

To be fair though a decent vac is at least 600W or 1kw - not going to last long on a battery.

I think Henrys are brilliant. I acquired one last time I moved house. Filtration so good it would clean smoke out of the air when the Rayburn burped!

can you fix a henry type up high above the machines? hyst have the hose hanging down, turn it on when you need it and grab the hose?

(unless the places you need it are spread out)
