Can access it but at my own risk etc etc

Was fine this morning and have just changed the 4 year old motherboard battery because was loosing bios settings on powerup but can't see how that would cause the Google problem.

Check the time and date are correct both in the BIOS and OS. Security certificate is probably valid in the future..

That could be it, main screen is showing Dec 2001...will go and give it a go.

Cheers Stevie..Changed in BIOS and all back to normal..we learn something new everyday and another verification of what a great forum this is.
