Had some plate like that years ago, there's some photos on here somewhere. Folded a piece and bang, split into two bits.

Many years ago, before the influx of chinese stuff, I was asked to go to an offshore fabrication yard as their welds were cracking. When I got there many of the offending articles had been spirited away but they were adamant it was the flux cored wire they were using and all they wanted to discuss was how much compensation we would pay them. I asked numerous times to see the steel test certs, having been told they only used the best.....eventually after I threatened to leave they came up with a cert........made in Vietnam.........i didnt even know they were making steel in Vietnam.......I didnt believe the cert so I had some of the plate tested.......results very different to the cert and a failure at the spec level it was supposed to be...(would have been OK lower down the list)....

It appears to have out lived their mopeds so far!
very true..........and we should be seeking compensation but only a certain trump has the balls to say so
