Anybody used a TECARC ATIG 315 ????

I was intending to purchase an EWM 350a tig set but the price is still a bit out of reach at the moment so I have been looking at second-hand machines from the likes of Kemppi, Migatronic, Miller, etc. It seems that for the price of a second-hand machine, no or very limited warranty, etc I can buy a brand new TECARC machine with obviously full warranty etc. I use a Miller Dynasty 350 at work.

So the question is, is a new TECARC ATIG machine (it's fully digital) going to be as good as a used premium brand machine???

Tecarc has an excellent reputation for their machines/service on this forum, I haven't heard of anyone saying they're not happy with their machines, so I would say yes.

Define fully digital??

You mean it has volt and amp meters I think. Digitalised machines mean when it operates on a software basis and uses binary 0/I signals not analogue 0/10 volts and as such do not suffer from deteriate from signal drift. Like a CD v a Vinyl record. It's like cruise control on a car or fly by wire technology in airplanes.

Anyway that said, to echo the other reply, they have a great reputation and are backed up superbly by Weldequip.

But, don't expect that you will have the same features or it will be in the same league as the EWM.

EDIT! Sorry I just looked at the machine you mention and not the Transformer type I thought you meant. Apologies, but I still don't believe its a digital machine in the correct sense of the word.

It's a Chinese origin machine I believe, but it has been re-worked by Technical Arc in the UK.

But it's still not going to be anywhere near in the same league as the EWM, but then again, it's not in the same price bracket and you will get a great back up from Weldequip.
