Not a for sale advert as I only have 2 bits that I am keeping myself...
So a job I am looking at requires some 60x5mm and 30x5mm flat stainless (304) with a brushed finish, I made up a prototype over the weekend and I am ending up with some nice 1m (roughly) lengths left over.
I used one of these 60mm wide lengths as a guide for my plasma cutter and it works perfectly, it's just the right thickness for the torch, runs smoothly along it and the splatter does not stick. It's just about heavy enough to hold itself in place as well.
The other, I am thinking of tacking one of the 30mm bits down the center of it to make a T section and use it for marking out. The main advantage is my workshop is damp so I can leave it in there without it rusting like steel would.
Anyway, back to the point, does anybody want any of this if I get some more?
The 60mm is working out about £35 a meter, expensive for a bit of metal but cheaper than a proper ground steel striaght edge at that length!
I expect I will have 10+ lengths of both sizes (at 1m) although depending on how I do my cutting list I might be able to do other lengths.
Note, the ends are not ground but I will cut them as tidy as I can. Also, it has been invoiced to me as "ground". It matches up pretty well to the 240g brushed sheet I have so I don't know if it's ground or sanded and I don't know exactly how precise or straight it is but it's as good as any of the kit I have got to check it with!
I will check the actuall dimensions later, Again, unknown at the moment!
If there is any interest I will get some more of the same otherwise I will have another look around suppliers and see if I can find some more suitable lengths to start with!
