Can you get a turbocharger kit for it with a hissing dump valve?
In that case it has to be a 4stroke V8.In theory, I love the fluid dynamics involved in 2strokes. In practice, I hate them
Having run a 661 sans muffler I can confirm that does become a problemMessed about with big bore kits, carbs, porting. Getting the exhaust system/muffler to flow better without it becoming ear shatteringly noisy is a challenge.

Sort the rest out and you will be able to run an extra tooth or two on the engine sprocket, that increase in grunt and higher chain speed makes a noticeable difference.I slapped a big bore kit on my 625 jonsered, haven’t faffed with anything else yet
I’m still waiting for you to dig me out a 900 series JonnySort the rest out and you will be able to run an extra tooth or two on the engine sprocket, that increase in grunt and higher chain speed makes a noticeable difference.

I own a ported Stihl 064 - it's an animal. My Husqvarna 365XP isn't ported, but had a simple operation done with a Dremel which turns it (literally) into a 372XP - basically about 1/2hp gained for no cost.
I don't know of any definitive guide, and the process seems a bit of a dark art. Those who can do it well don't give away the knowledge. A word of warning...the ported saw I got off eBay had been ported well, but work done after it had been seized. Piston etc had been replaced, but crank bearing hadn't been and it disintegrated spectacularly during use. Fixed now by Peter and I, but shows even professional porters will take shortcuts.
