Any water filter knowledge here?

I have been wondering about bacteria in the RO storage tank -

But then thought how can they grow? Post RO membrane, there should be nothing left in the water for them to assemble cells out of.

I guess this is why holding tanks have no special "stuff" to stop growth?

For our spring water, the holding tank is brick built and underground so completely dark so no chance of light loving bugs like algae to grow. It is only particle filtered and nuked with UV just before use. There's a flow regulator to make sure the flow does not exceed the recommended flow rate through the UV tube. I never store it after it comes out of the tap it's either drank or brewed with straight away.

Depending on the level of contamination a cbr2 filter may be adequate,

I would run with at least a 5 micron prefilter and probably a carbon block before

this will give you mains pressure, no stored water and no waste.

If it’s heavily contaminated then ro is the way

I went overboard with my installation. Pump is 120L a min so everything had to be 1 1/4" to cope with the flow. That of course puts the cost up but with careful shopping around I got it cheaper than a much smaller installation from some places.
Pump is overkill - and not good for the well in the Algarve which was in serious drought last year. Left the hosepipe on and forgot about it. Had to wait 12 hours for the well to fill back up again

I fitted this a few years ago ...it has a washable filter for any bits that might get into the water main ,and a GAC for any nasties and a UV light to kill any bugs ..cost about 400 quid from a UK company Osmio Water

I happened across some of this water filtration kit and associated malarkey, haven't got a clue what any of it does. Will take some snaps, it may be of use to some of you guys.

Liff is good stuff.
There will be uv tubes in the housings. Will need changing probably.
And standard filters to go in the housings.
Pretty cheap to get working if you have a need for them.
