Any washing machine gurus?

Washing machine has started making this noise. Can’t remember if it’s 5 or 7 years old.

It’s a Bosch logix7.

It only does it when it has clothes in it and is on spin.

No clothes, you can spin it up to 1200rpm with no noise!

I wonder if one of the drum springs has came loose or broken and the vibration of having a load in is causing the noise, has vibration increased?

Definitely sounds like something is loose. They are not complicated machines, pull it out and get inside it, I Imagine the cause will be obvious.

Sounds like a broken mounting. Something loose in there that fouls when out of balance forces push it into contact.

It doesn’t look like the drum is being thrown about that much but something clearly isn’t right.
Worth pulling it out and whipping the covers off yourself to check for anything obvious.
If it was a broken spring wouldn’t that trigger the imbalanced load sensor?

just gone through this with my AEG washer very similar symptoms. stand close to the washer and grab the inside drum at the top can you rock it on the spindle? Mine had about half an inch wobble on the front bearing. You can replace the bearings on some drums dead easy for £15 others like mine was a whole new drum ! There are dampers to check as well it could be one of those that's shot thats an easy fix.

Will have to drag it out then.
That will be a bar steward. Had to remove tiles last time. Poxy kitchen fitters.

Check the access first as often it is two screws and the top slides off. Also on mine there is access from the front underneath so you don't need to remove it.

Mounting damper/spring may have let go.

About 16 Max screws to remove the rear cover and have a look.

What is going to be the killer is the price of a new part compared tp the a new machine, plus the effertr od seahing and waiting for one.

It was the damper what was the death of old machine. As we are covered by British gas. We got a new machine delivered, installed for £70.

But I wasn't going to pay for disposal of the old machine. Not at £20.

Most likely cause - bearing. Second likely - damper. Third - concrete block loose.

Easier to fix too, I suggested to the Mrs she just washed our stuff in the river to save money, now Im a pensioner.

As I ducked to miss the flying pan I heard the word something off!

I'm 35 and am sick to death with this modern crap falling apart. Wife is banging on about a new gas boiler - don't think so love, I'm looking at a trianco trg to replace the back boiler when it springs a leak

I'd also go for bearing having replaced them before, open door and check for play on drum

Eat a load of beans and tell her your working on the gas supply to see if it is feasible .
