Any one know anything about vintage pedal bikes?

Nothing so different to any modern bikes. Just rod brakes and MAYBE hub gears.

I couldn't find original style black ones at the time unfortunately. Need to have a look again and see if there are any about.

They are, a local old fashioned bike shop has them in.

Paid £20 for her with all bits and the sum of the parts is worth a reasonable amount. King of the road bell, Lucas dynamo lights, original Hercules pump and Brooks saddle (also have the original stashed away).

I also got a original Lucas poster for my workshop wall, same model of lights.

Amazing how much nicer folk are to a cyclist on an old bike plodding along. My company even give me £150/m for being green and not needing a parking space. Happy camper.

Crikey, the brakes aren't good like a modern bike, would be exciting.

My Mum tried it when she was a kid, the brake blocks flew out...ergo no brakes....she carried the scars until the day she died. Don't say you weren't warned

A mate had a rod braked black bike when we were at school, everyone else had 5speed bikes with apes, he rode around on his grandads bike.
At least everyone thought it was his grandads. Over the years people have said they saw him on it, usually at the motorbike shop getting parts
for his bike. I was riding along a few years ago and saw him on it and asked about it, he used to get them from the town dump; it wasn't always the same bike if he needed to fix anything on it he used to go and get another one.
