Any one give me a clue cost of 6mm and 8mm sheet 2m x 1m

Just wondering if anyone could give me an estimate for a sheet of steel 2 metres by 1 metre in 6mm and 8mm thickness.

This is before i go looking and asking costs so I can figure if I get prices in the correct range?

i got a price a few years ago for 5mm 2 x 1 metre 80kg weight 71.40 +vat = 85.68

but please note this is around 3 years ago prices are different now

Thanks for the gaz1. So I think if I assume for 6mm around £100 to £120.

Have you tried fh brundles website - their prices always seem there or thereabouts? Use that price as a starting point and work down with your local supplier!!

2x1 8mm there is 85 quid ex vat

Parker Steel is saying £102 plus VAT but how good that is I have no idea as I very rarely buy steel.

I must admit I only thought of NVF, Brundles etc as railings supplies.

That is handy, about to try and get a price for some 12mm and Parker was what I was looking at to give me a guide but looks like Brundle are a good bit cheaper so I can now find out what my local place can do.

Just compared Brundles prices to cost I paid for some steel last week from my local supplier and Brundles are slightly dearer, so that bodes well for me for the 12mm plate I am looking for

As said I haven't a clue about steel prices as it is normally Stainless and Alu that I buy so it is good to have an online site that is competitive so I can haggle with local places

I buy my metal through a company called speed alloys and they are very good on prices and delivery. I've never bought steel from them as I rarely use it but given the great rates they do me on aluminium and SS it may be worth you enquireing if the deliver your end.

Not sure what you usually buy but 3mm 5083 sheet is the thinnest I have bought recently and I was £80 for a 2500 x 1250.
Having said that I bought some 4mm yesterday and the price has started jumping up due to the low £ I was about 20% more for it than than it was a few months back

you'd be better off ringing them for prices mate.
Mine are slightly better due to the account held through work and they offer me the same rate for my private stuff.

Random question about buying sheet from eg fh brundle...

Do they deliver with a hiab lorry? I want to buy some steel for a table, but if it's a case of "lift it off yer self", then it's a non starter, especially if it comes bundled up

I had 2 large deliveries from Parkers and neither had HIABs but I did say in the delivery form that a forklift would be available.
I know all the Pulhams lorries have HIABs.
