Any Musicians or Guitarists Out There?

I have an Ibanez Blazer from about 1984. You have done well for £40. I started off playing through the amp on the hi fi like many people. We have an old Peavey amp but recently bought a Roland Cube amp, which has built in effects, and it's a great little amp for the money.

I would also recommend lessons and learning to read music if you can. I wish I had done both as I still just a strummer really.

You Tube is great. Just pick a song and there will be someone on there doing a tutorial. Justin Sandercoe is one of the best and there is another guy whose names escapes me atm, but he has done a few videos with Justin.

A surprising response as you never hear music mentioned on the forum but thanks for all the replies & advice.

I plan to take the guitar into a local music shop next week & get it checked over. The guy in there is a decent chap and will give honest advise on what the guitar needs. If he has a decent amp at a sensible price I might do a deal.

You Tube is an amazing site to learn the guitar..it's the first place I go to learn a new song. I have posted quite a few videos up myself to help people learn 'difficult' songs in an easier way... search youtube for gerrymoore5 ....

She does acoustic tutorial videos, I learned Chasing Cars by watching her vid.

As some of you have said, I'm not out a fortune and if I don't get on with the electric guitar I can always sell it on. But it is quite a nice piece of timber and it does look good in the corner.
