Sodium by the looks...
Probably, and should save you a fair bit in electricity costs too I would think? In fairness we have been here 7 years and never changed a bulb! In winter they are on say 12 hrs a day - so as a very rough calc they have lasted 14,000 hrs - and had probably been here for a few years before us. I wonder if the LEDs will last that long?
That was just as it was firing up - very white when warmed up.The middle, greenish-tinged bulb, is almost certainly a high pressure mercury arc lamp. Sometimes they are blended bulbs i.e. mercury mixed with other element(s) to give a better colour balance, but use the same ballast.
Ours paid for themselves in about 9 months but the saving is still ongoing + no heat up time, I thing we have had them for 4 years with no problem, we have nothing but LED units on site in total 20 Hi bay 200watt units + numerous tube LED's & outside flood lamps, with 1x 20 watt flood gone US, & they have gone down in price
Factor in running cost as well as life.
