Hey guys,
In my region we don't have much choice outside of the re-branded Chinese welding machines for the hobby market. There are specialty shops but since they cater exclusively to the mining/industrial trades their pricing is targeted as such.
A reasonable option is the Stanley (I believe Awelco is the same brand) range of products.
Mostly want a DC stick welder to start learning (Steel hollow section and angle / flat bars) but figured I'd get the one with the lift TIG option as its not much more but might future proof the purchase a bit. I'd love to be able to do Aluminium as well but I know that not going to be feasible in the near future.
Anyways, would appreciate knowing if its total junk or at least a couple of steps above a no name Chinese device.
