Any Detectorists On Here ?.

We had the use of a club members metal detector several years ago (it was supposed to be a good one) to try and find some railway wagon wheels under 2+feet of wet sand on our mooring trot but had very little to no luck.
Surprisingly we located a lost mooring riser last Sunday using a good GPS position to start with and prodding with long 6mm bar through about 30" of sand. I was well pleased.

I found wet sand very difficult to detect, a lot of false hits.

Used to years ago. Still got the machine, a Fisher 1265X (I think) no time.

Be warned though, if you are going to try it for the first time, you do spend a lot of time digging up junk. It can be very disheartening.

Must ask him to find out !. I would love to have a go in there when I visit him in September.
