Any body with a Hiab in North Manchester, small boat lift ?

Hi all

I need by 20 foot boat lifting and turning 90 degrees where it is. Well a lift closer to the road is the new resting place.

It was dropped in place with a small Hiab in the first place and it sits about 16 foot to the center from the kerb. Rough weight maybe 1300kg.

This is it and needs to be laid as said 90 degrees where the car is which will be shifted in to pound area out the way.

If anybody can do this let me know how much please.

getting there hey, it has seats/berths now for when T kicks me out for being a pain in the ares about the thing. Like the canopy lol. reason i need to move it around.

It looks like you have some decent flat ground there, could you jack it up a little bit and put scaffold tubes underneath then just roll it to where you need it ? You know Egyptian style !!!

Are you ultimately thinking of keeping it on a trailer or on the water ? If on a trailer why not built it now around the boat ?

I got some 4inch round fence posts to do that a while ago but never got around to it and panicked incase it fell over lol. sold them in the end.


Funds are not good, was planning on hiring a trailer for now to do the launch then build one later. All i have funds wise is for the canopy, same price as a trailer to buy.

Plan is to have a mooring for it on Ullswater and a trailer for when we want to go away somewhere else with it.

Maybe if I had some. Would need four i reckon to keep it balanced on the frame though.

Come to think of it, the flags on the drive are not that level for a pallet truck.

Would be a squeeze to turn it aswell

Early morning Brain wave

Going to make a set of skids for it.

Just need a set of 8 castors and bolt them to two 18mm plywood pads bonded together then bolted to the frame the boat is sat on.

Should to the trick

Bottle jacks usually work okay on their side as long as you keep the pump to the bottom.

I have ordered a set of castors, eight 150kg should do the trick. I can reuse them on my gantry now aswell. I have been meaning to fit a set for ages.
