Any 3D printers around?

Looking for a 3D printer to give me a price to design (copy) a part to match one we cant seem to buy anymore.
Or if it makes things easier 2 parts....

If there’s no-one here to take up the offer (my cad work is still faily carp), and I’m not breaking any rules telling you this (apologies if I am). Your best bet is to go to somewhere like thingiverse. They have folk that can design and print out a part for you.

That's quite a big piece for most printers outside of a commercial laser sintering machine, both in terms of actual part size and print time. Maybe better having it modelling in CAD and then trying shapeways....but I think your best bet would be to take some silicone moulds and then cold cast some.

I think I'd exhaust all possibilities of obtaining a genuine part first - what vehicle is it from?

Yeah, I'd definately try to get one first, the CAD modelling time is going to take a few quid even at mates rates, and something that size through shapeways in sintered nylon is likely to be three figures a piece.
And your first one probably won't fit and need some tweaks to the model

You can buy a two part casting silicon .

Sink the piece half way into sand/plasticene. Dimple the sand to make alignment marks.
Make up a batch of rubber.
Pour over the top.
When the silicone has set, take out of the sand, and flip over.
Spray/paint on release agent.
Make up 2nd batch of silicone.
Pour over top.

You now have a 2 part mould - you just need something to fill it.

At this point, I would normally pour in wax and do a lost wax aluminium casting, but i'm sure there'll be some sort of castable plastic?
Or even epoxy?

Cold cast in rigid polyurethane should do it.

For a laugh, a similar size/detail model I just put through Shapeways came out at ~400 per unit in filled nylon....

For diy, resin would be your best bet. Could the original be used to vacuum form a mold? You can then fill it with resin, or wax.
