I bought some cheap roofbars. they are covered with slippery plastic trim not clever for carrying kayaks in the rain.
They were supplied with a length of 'anti whistle strip' to fit into a channel across the bottom of the bars. (They seem to be folded up from flat strip into a box section) it keeps the noise down, but if I remove the whole of the plastic over it will leave most of the channel open and leaves me with what sounds like a harmonica orchestra on my roof. The antiwhistle thingy was I think a sort of 'H' shaped rubber strip to fill a gap of about 3mm. Has anybody got a clue where I can source a couple of M of this stuff.
Ive fabbed up a larger roof rack that sits on top of the bars and works a treat but is a faff to remove and replace with the plastic coating on the original bars.
Plan A is to fit anti whistle thingy over the gap and use my extension as and when I need it.
