Early kawasakis 100’s came with 4” of 3/4” round bar welded in each end of rhe bars. I was surprised when I found that on mine.Try a roll of roof lead in each end. Not really in the spirit of adding lightness but a cheap experiment.
I think it was quite common on multis of that era due to the high frequency vibration of 4-pot engines without balancer shafts to weight the bars to dampen the buzz.Early kawasakis 100’s came with 4” of 3/4” round bar welded in each end of rhe bars. I was surprised when I found that on mine.
My ‘97 BM 1100r has bar end weights as standard, they just screw on though. I’ve never really noticed any vibes though, more of a buzz round 4000rpm, which happens to be 70mph…I think it was quite common on multis of that era due to the high frequency vibration of 4-pot engines without balancer shafts to weight the bars to dampen the buzz.
S'funny. Old singles can shake like a wet dog & loosen yer fillings etc, & 4's make your fingers go numb. When I finally got around to riding twins (I've had a BMW Rockster 1150 since 2007) - they vibrate at certain revs, but generally don't bother me at all.
