Anti seize on regulator water traps?

I had to use a stilson to get the trap off my metalwerks (devilbis) filter yesterday.

They're alloy bowls in an alloy head, and the corrosion welds them together.

What do you think a suitable anti seize is, considering the whole point of this stuff is to remove contaminants from the air stream (in this case it's for breathing kit)

It's not like a smear of grease on the thread is going to get atomized, but, still, it would seem sensible to use somthing other than your closest carcinogen...

I've heard this isn't bad stuff, but I've never personally used it.......

I think diving gear uses silicone grease, if you are concerned about breathing it then this may be suitable?

Silicone gives me the fear. The traps in question are running the breathing kit, but it still gives me the fear, as ill probably use it on the other trap when its the only thing to hand!

But, yes, probably the best option for this set. The breathing filters are the expensive ones anyway, so im more interested in them not dying.

We had lots of autoclaves doing corrosion tests at high temperature and pressure, operating for continuous periods of maybe 6 months. For many years, they had been painting the bolts that held down the lids with Milk of Magnesia which worked well as an antiseizure measure, provided by the (very inert and non-toxic) particles of magnesium oxide.

What about a thin wrap of ptfe tape? I don't think that would become aerosol and might help keep thread surfaces from binding? (Assuming you can wrap it on one of the threads)

Don't use silicon grease if you do paint spraying.

PTFE tape is not allowed/recommended on systems where the tiny slivers can clog something downstream.
Does this system have such valving & regulators ?

I dont know. I was just trying to suggest something that wouldn't become an aerosol and end up deep in Julians lungs but might work to stop things seizing together.

I wonder if there is an online manual for the
Del Monox system ?
It is for breathing air systems, they would probably have some notes
on hooking up their systems.
