Hi
Long time listener, first-time caller
My father has a decent Oxford 180 stick which I'm becoming half-way competent with. However, I also want to weld up some car panels, exhausts, that type of thing, and while the Oxford comes down to 20A, I can't even spark up an arc at anything below 50 - and of course that just blows holes in thin stuff.
Was thinking of a small gas&gasless mig for this (I will be welding outside, mainly, so gas&gasless is probably the best combination for when the wind is blowing). As the Oxford will take care of the thicker stuff, I just need something with a decent performance for the thin stuff.
Preferably don't want to get too carried away with the price, if it can be brought in under £300 that would be great. 13A single phase supply only please !
(edit: if possible, one that can weld Aluminium and Stainless as well as mild, please )
(Oh, and if anyone knows of any gas suppliers local to Inverness/Highlands, please let me know. Thanks)
Thanks for any advice.
