Bought an assortment of trailer stuff for ours lights etc but this was air the box?
Its looks like a towing thing but what for?
Some of the holes line up to the tow ball but others are larger?

I would say its a drop plate to convert something with a four bolt nato hitch to a standard towball .

It doesn't look a big enough drop for a landrover. I would say Hilux as some of them came with a 4 bolt pattern on tow bar but alot lower than the 4 bolt pattern on a defender
Although it might beoff an hgv as lorry's often use a 4 bolt tow hitch

Tow plate adapeter. There should be numbers on it.
Then you can google them and find out.

Not sute Bob our resident Series 2 has smaller bolts through his back member!

If the hole centers on the back are 6.5" c-c I would say its definitley an adaptor for a nato hitch on a 101 landrover to take a standard towball. I made something along those lines to take a drop plate in the place of a nato hitch on my 101.

Hi-cap dropside landys have a similar type of spacer on the tow hitch to move the towball out from under the body, So you don't have a hernia trying to hook the trailer on.
