Another "what is this called" question

My mate loaned me this tool today. It's for making holes in steel. You drill a 10mm pilot hole, fit a piece either side and tighten the bolt and it makes a hole without using a drill. This is 25mm, I need one around 18mm diameter. Does anyone know the proper name for it and, even better, where I might get one? It produced a lovely clean cut. I have an idea it was used for cutting holes for radio aerials.

When I use the step drill my electric drill is still warm to the touch after an hour, and I'm concerned I might be about to burn it out. It says "Q Max" on it, but I couldn't find it on a quick google.

Sometimes called a pull through, a touch of oil on the threads and the cutting edges make them easier to use / abuse !.

I have a set my dad purloined from the RAF years ago. I used them to punch lots of holes in 1mm stainless once. They worked well.

Excellent, thanks everyone. I wonder why Google didn't find anything for me when I put Q-Max in. Must have been having an off day. Yes, it's a lovely thing and produces a very neat hole. There's a little bit of trepidation when it feels like the thread has stripped, and then another when it lets go and it feels like I might have snapped something. Other than that, though, it's great and I need one. Or maybe more than one.

Imperial is no problem - it's to cut holes in a seventies car. I just always expect to have to convert to metric these days.

Don't let them eurometrics fool you . Feet and inches is still a real unit of measurement . It's just easier to teach children metric !
