Another useless tool

I just had an email catalogue from one of our vehicle retail chains stores, in the clearance section, it has to be in my mind, one of the most useless tools I have seen for a long while. A "G" clamp that has had half the side web removed/modified to make a bottle cap opener. If you are working and require a G clamp and have a need for a bottle cap opener, you would be within reach of dozens of tools that would do the job rather than weakening the structural strength of a clamp. Or am I missing something here?

I belive a team of people possibly in China invent stuff we dont need and cant do without. We all know some one who has a bucket full of random tools but can fix or make anything!
Whilst we also know people who have 10 10mm spanners all different, with me its 1/4 drive I bought another ratchet on Sunday!

I once tightened up a G clamp and it snapped, one half travelling over my shoulder at a hell of a speed; it could just has easily hit me in the eye.
So, the idea of using a G clamp with a notch in it.... err, I think I'll pass!

Another one of these ‘themed’ gifts that you’d receive on Father’s Day to put with all the other worthless tat that you have to proudly display in the shed!

Says it all about general opinion and esteem in which the general public hold for those in public office eh!

This. I can see it potentially being a really good fixed bottle opener.

I think it’s sole purpose is that of a bottle opener, it’s the sort of thing you would see in a beer tent or any other makeshift pub.

Yeah that's definitely just a clampable novelty bottle opener rather than a g-clamp with a bottle opener.

How good a job can a bottle opener do, it either opens a bottle or it doesn't.

I don't even have one, just open them with whatever's to hand, usually a second bottle.

If it opens a bottle I would say $4 isn't too bad for something you can clamp to your patio table at a party.
