another project wacker plate

ive bought a wacker plate

needed one at work the other day and borrwed one did the job i need but dont realy like borrowing stuff so thought if i see one cheap i will get it

on facebok a couple days later i see non working for very little money messaged the bloke only 5 mins after he listed it and said id be there in half an hour

went seen and in my garage

put some fuel down the bore nothing

played with a few bits heard a micro switch cutting in and out when pulling a lever held it open fuel in the bore and it started so i think im half way there

plenty of work sorting out new cables as the ones on there are bent snaped and frayed

brackets for the exaugst cover both snaped

and a service to come

ok to the question

there is 2 places to put oil im assuming ones for the engine the other is for ?oil for the mechinical movements of the plate ?

Has it the gx160 honda?...two fillers for oil, use either just up to the neck before it flows back out.

no i dont think honda engine i will have a closer look tommorw

if it works then its fine and for the price if i use it a couple times ive had my moneys worth

i phoned the hire shop qouted £30 for a day thats ok but this i can swear at constantly when it dont start

to be fair the gen i bought for work was a china copy runs well so much so people keep borrowing it ive not used it yet

I think Rockworth generators were stocked by B&Q a few years ago.

my cheapies although nearly new stars second pull everytime.....often months between each run......
I bought it as the nearest hire shop is a 2 hour drive...
if u need photo's of an original, give us a shout....no probs....

Ive a genuine Neuson Whacker, and also had a cheapie Chinese job. When doing the shed base, both were in use, the big difference I noticed when swapping was the genuine job seemed to put far less vibration up your arms than the cheapie. The cheapie got sold after all the renovations.

Not checked that as yet did look in it seamed to some in there but not full up what I did not run just see if it run for 2 seconds to see if it would run had spark and what was wrong

Only jobs I will be doing is small stuff at work large builds are done by some one else mine mostly small Slabs short walls etc

But I do have a drive I need to do once the garage is built so there is also a reason I'm spending time on getting it running

i have a large diesel wacker plate 4 people cant lift it its got forward and reverse and a briggs and stratton engine on it . after using it for 25 minutes your arms are dead the newer ones have a big rubber joint in middle of the handle to stop the vibration

I had that bad vibration thing with my big Belle wacker...i used 2 trailing arms off a car cut in half and welded them to the handle and had the big rubber bush at the wacker end...fixed it

Update had a couple hours

Took the carb off sonic cleaned it
Put a lawn mower adapated cable on it for the stop start choke as the old was bent twisted
Clean up the fuel tank
Clean the engine

And yes its a China copy engine all looks the same as the Mountfield mower engines just bigger

There was the right amount of oil in it filled with fuel

And it runs not perfect but runs just throbs a bit [throttle /governor not right could be fuel or carb still]
But as it a China copy I've got a spare carb here some where so might give that a try and see if makes a difference

But can it be used as yes it runs and goes one happy bunny
