Another Newbie

Hi,

I'm looking forward to learning to weld. I'm constantly working on my car (70 Challenger) and want to be able to do some metal work.

I jumped right in and bought a Northern Tool 220V Mig welder. I thought this would come with an instructional DVD, unfortunately it didn't.

So I'm going to be doing a lot of reading.

I'm in central Florida.

The tutorials here are good. They got me going.

Which NT welder did yo get; the 175A one? They look hood and are possible just rebadged Hobart ones.

Post some picks of the Challenger, used to like those.

Yes, it is the 175. They had a 20% off sale last month. For $360 it seemed like a great deal. On the car sites I frequent, some suggested the Hobart, but it was 2x the cost.

If I get in deep enough, I can upgrade in the future if needed.

That is a great price. Let us know how well it works. Post some picks of the wire feed/gun.

It should do anything you need for automotive work.
