Yep, there or thereabouts.Going by amps I work out this motor to be around 2.6 horse power.

I did wonder as the motor we spoke about during the last few days is rated at 8 amps, it's also rated at 1.5hp on the plate.Nowhere near. A 3hp motor will pull about 13amps. That one's about 1.5kw/2hp or a bit less.

@Pete. What am I missing there? Watts = Amps x Volts right? So 240 x 9.2 comes to circa 2200 which is about 3hpNowhere near. A 3hp motor will pull about 13amps. That one's about 1.5kw/2hp or a bit less.

Average 4.5A to 1kW (1ph).
746w is 1hp.
As said above its 1.944kw, which divided by 0.746 = 2.6Hp.
Doesn't it say 1.6kw next to the left hand rivet?
Aha! Well spotted, I didn't see that.Doesn't it say 1.6kw next to the left hand rivet?
Why are people dividing by the power factor? its a multiplier
Haha - you’re right. It was a long day. I saw the 0.74 as PF and didn’t read it fullyNo-one’s used power factor at all.
You can use it as a divisor or multiplier:
P = VI.(cosphi)
or
I = P/V(cosphi)
