In the states, we have Harbor Freight stores, selling imported (Chinese) tools, you probably see these locally as well.
It is a simple hand powered hydraulic wood splitter.
At first I thought the dumbest thing I've seen in a long time. I have worked on & around powered log splitters for many years.
Until you look at it with a different eye....
10 tons can bend 1/4"plate the full 4-5" wide.
It's compact (has a stand for upright use as well as storage, and little wheels to move it like a handtruck)
I did not alter the machine in any way, just added a "Steel Log" with a standard 1/2 wide slot for press brake tooling.
I didn't even need a milling machine for the 1/2"slot, just pre-drilled & tapped the holes, shimmed the die key (with tape)
and tack welded the side on place. The odd "U" bottom die is a piece I found in the scrap, works fine.
I have since added a stock stop for repeat bends, I'll see if I can find the pix.
