Table is max 16mm because that’s what the pierce is

Even with the table torch used as a hand torch they just don't seem to cut as thick for whatever reason , I have a table torch for the 125 and experimented lol

I know the Jasic is a nice bit of kit, but I fundamentally dislike their production and marketing ethics, so Jasic is never an option for me any more.

All sorts of ethics involved in all sorts of products. I for example dislike companies that put their production to China and still sell at over inflated prices just to increase their profits, doing local people out of jobs in the process. Would that stop me buying? Probably not if it was proved to be worth the money over a competitor but I am yet to be convinced that is the case.

If a powermax 65 works then a 105 will, same torch, serial communications and machine settings up to 65.

Completely agree, the only difference will be the 'cut charts' stored in the software. You should be able to edit your parameters from the existing cut charts and add parameters for the PM105.

The Hypertherm 45XP will just cut 1 inch steel with a a edge cut. Much easier with a Thermal/Esab 60i Just more power overall. Arc length mostly. The most interesting option would be a new Thermacut torch/ consumables on a older cutmaster 82 Power output similar to a Hypertherm 65.. It's sort of sad Esab did not keep the PT-37/38/39 torch around instead of the one torch setup. That said, the One torch does respond to the extra power the 60i has.

Turn key would be just get a Hypertherm 45 xp.. Very nicely built power supply, and system. The 3 phase 60i cutmaster is really a step above in Peirce power etc.. It will do some things better like gouging ,and marking as well or better..

I had/ have a few38xl //101/151/42/52/ 35/82/A-120 a few more in the mix.. Esab did not move the machines to Mexico. Thermal did.. The machines are made there to this day. Say what you will but the 60i outperforms any of the older units in many areas. one torch is a good torch, but great is pushing it just a bit.If you put a one torch at 60 amps on a table cutting .500 mild steel. a Hypertherm/Esab PT-37/ Thermal cut torch would blow by the one torch by about 7 ipm. Esab cut margins by not using the PT torch on the cutmasters I had all three brands on my table bought be my own money. Yes, I have a one torch on it now, but that is what the 60i came with. I know what works, and have #, and cuts to back it up.. The larger 102/152 had many issues, while the 52/82 were much more reliable then theolder cutmaster range. A 52/58 cannot even get into the gouging range of a 60i. Not even the 82 for that matter.

I have my own opinions of the 60i having worked for ESAB when the unit came out. I can only tell you of the build quality and unit issues we experienced when the units came to us.

The 1torch used the same consumables across the range and if torch or cable is damaged you can replace just the damaged part.

I’m not saying it’s the best torch out there but it’s a damn site better than the stuff used by ESAB before they acquired Thermal Dynamics.

In my opinion the 80, 100 etc were good reliable machines. They were not as advanced as the Hypertherm but they were good quality.

I’ve never found plasma gouging that great for anything. I’d much rather use carbons. I used it extensively to get some parameters for customers looking to switch from carbon to plasma on steel and aluminium, but the results always came back to carbon being quicker and neater for fillet weld removal.

I have done a bit of gouging with the PM125, since I don't have any carbons or power source to run them what I have done was sufficient. I have seen carbons in action, but they were big carbons, big power source and air supply and that did move some material. Was actually scary. Almost in the relm of oxy lance. I played with an oxy lance just a couple of times at the steel mill I worked at in my youth. Cutting out steel strip from the 6 stand strip mill when we had a 'cobble' in the mill. You had to be careful where you placed the lance and the direction of the metal flow or you could cut into the rolls or the mill housings

I sold one of my 60i machines to a guy that does saw mill repair/ etc.. He told me after a few weeks the machine had paid for itself in gouging.. I am sure you have no need for precision gouging or marking either? Do not mean it's not a good feature for some.. The replaceable leads on the newer torch is garbage, and cost as much as a new torch..(problem child too) I am not sure if you have seen the Thermal cut torch for the cutmaster series? It's a upgrade in performance on so many levels.

I been using the one torch since it came out, so you are probably not going to tell me much about it, It was with the cutmaster 38, and demo's by the top Thermal rep in the USA. Even he like some of the older torches better.. I learned many tricks to get it to work well with CNC cutting,Major thing it does well is the cut height is higher, and easier to use then a Hypertherm in going over slag piles /etc.. It's cutting range is way more limited in speeds that it runs well in..

The PT-37/38/39 was out before Colfax bought Easb, and later Thermal Dynamics. The one torch is not a better then a PT-37 in consumable life/cut speed/ bevel/ dross.

Another vote for the Oxford Cutmaker 700 (mines single phase) 28mm clean cut and 35mm severance. Just don't expect to carry it around...

This was the first 25mm plate I cut with it, I don't have photos of any others.

That sounds similar to the specs on my TecArc or at least what it did when I first got it, now it doesn't. I keep meaning to get a new Mitsubishi module for it and see if that is the problem, already wasted £200 on a pcb which made no difference
