Another generator question

Just bought a generator for the stables on an MM vat free day, they wanted to sell me some oil to go in it but I declined

The "manual" states sae30 oil, got some compressor oil in garage marked sae30, are compressor & generator oils the same?

Is it MM compressor oil? If so look carefully at the compressor oil bottle and it may "Engine oil" on it.

The compressor oil will be a non-detergent variety, check to see if this is OK for the generator.

If it was I'd have bought the MM generator oil just in case there was a warranty claim and they tried to wriggle out of it.

Went to garage, donned reading glasses - non detergent engine oil for 4 stroke engines!
