Hi
I've been stalking the forums for a few months now and last week took the plunge and bought a Clarke 160EN.
Just this minute laid my first welds.
Frontside:
Backside:
The 'weld' to the left of the picture is just me holding the torch nearish the piece and hoping for the best as you can probably tell. The weld on the right is with CO2 on mid range and trying to make a steady line with the torch. the difference is obvious. Is that decent penetration, do you think? it's 1.5mm mild steel welding with .8 wire.
I've got my settings at 3 on wire speed and 2 minimum on power.
cheers
Dave.
