Another, 'Another what is this for' thread....

I found these modified Mole grips today in a box of stuff I've had for about 20 years and have never known what they are for.
I take it they are for setting something or holding it, but why the rotating part?
They are properly made as the whole body is chromed.
Anyone know??

i have one . its for making off pots on pyro cable most were screwed on but you could get ones with a tapered split collet and were crimped in . slide the punch back and it would crimp the plastic cap into the brass pot with the cables protruding
